When do I become vested in my MPB account?
A.
Participants that began on or after January 1, 2017 become 100% vested after completing 3 Years of Service. Participants that began prior to January 1, 2017 are immediately 100% vested.

Q.
When do I have access to my funds in my MPB account?
A.
You may have access at the earlier of retirement, disability, age 62 or withdrawal from the maritime industry. A distribution based on withdrawal from the maritime industry cannot be requested until 365 days after your last date of AMO covered employment. In the event of your death, your beneficiary will be able to apply for a distribution of your account balance.

How can I check my MPB account balance?
A.
You can check your balance by logging in to The Newport Group website: www.newportgroup.com. If you have trouble accessing your account, please call The Newport Group at (800) 650-1065.

Q.
How can I make investment changes to my MPB Plan account?
A.
If you would like to reallocate your MPB account into other investment choices or change your investment election for future contributions, log in to www.newportgroup.com and transfer your balance into other mutual funds with the MPB or into one of the four model portfolios.

Can I borrow from my MPB?
A.
No, loans are not permitted from this benefit.

Can I make a contribution to my MPB?
A.
Contributions are made solely from AMO Contributing Employers.

Q.
Will I receive a MPB account statement from AMO Plans?
A.
You will receive a quarterly statement from The Newport Group. You can also view your quarterly statement online at www.newportgroup.com
